Laura is the Director of People Operations at Powerhouse Animation Studios, where she has led the Human Resources function since 2020. She oversees employee relations, organizational design, compliance, and leadership development, building a solid infrastructure that balances creative production needs with a people-first approach. Prior to Powerhouse, Laura served as the Executive Director of Kids in a New Groove, where she scaled programming, more than doubled revenue, and expanded the community impact. While she began her career in nonprofit services, it was through that work that she discovered her true passion of human resources - helping employees and companies thrive through inclusivity, creativity, and positive workplace cultures.  

Laura is a SHRM-SCP HR Leader that is a member of both SHRM and Austin SHRM. Over the past 17 years, she has served on various organizational boards and committees, including Women in Animation, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Once Voice Central Texas, and as a founding member of Texas Women for Children.

Laura has lived in Austin, Texas for 16 plus years and enjoys experiencing all the outdoor life has to offer, with frequent hikes, camping trips, and escaping to the mountains of Colorado any chance she gets.
