  • What are the benefits of attendance?

    The State of Black Design Conference provides student attendees opportunities for a glimpse into their future careers, personalized education, and networking. Speakers and sponsors get the opportunity to mingle with, recruit, and share knowledge with fledgling designers and build a stronger relationship with the next generation of designers.

  • Is the conference available to anyone wanting to attend?

    Yes, please refer to code of conduct.

  • What time does Career Exploration Day begin on March 14?

    Virtual programming begins at 10:00 AM CT

    In person programming begins at 11:00 AM CT

  • What time does the conference begin on March 15 and 16?

    In person workshops are from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NOON CT

    Main stage sessions open to both Virtual and In person participants are from 1:00 PM to ~5:30 PM each day

  • Are there payment installment plans available for attendees who cannot afford the fee?

    No, unfortunately at this time we cannot provide alternate payment plans.

    In person registration for students is $100 and for non-students $495.

    Virtual registration is $25 for students; $50 for non-students.

    We encourage you to contact your company or educational institution for assistance in attending the SOBD conference.
